The Top Five Topics People Talk About on the Bus

As a member of my school’s school bus community, I am deeply confused on a daily basis by what I overhear. Generally, I will be sitting there, panting from my near-tardiness, and suddenly I’ll hear the most interesting things. Keep in mind that the main reason for this is that I’m fairly sure that the main demographic on my particular bus is, for whatever reason, seventh and eighth grade boys. That will explain a lot once you read my list.

  1. Fantasy football. For this, I have more questions than explanations, the main one being: What? and the one following that one being: Why?

  2. Clash Royale. This one, I’ve got to say, I also don’t really know. My understanding is that it’s a video game, and… that’s it. That’s basically all I know.

  3. Homework. This one makes more sense, because, duh… we’re going to school. Often, people are stressing out about an assignment they didn’t finish or saying they’re “cooked” for a test. (That’s a particular word I never really picked up, so forgive me if I placed it in the wrong part of the sentence).

  4. The level of smartness of your friends. Or your not-friends. I honestly don’t know, but the amount of time I hear “Bro, you’re so dumb” on a daily basis said between people who are supposed to like each other has grown concerning.

  5. Memes or brainrot. Of course “6-7”, the two numbers I have grown to resent the most of all (especially when combined), but also others. There seems to be a song about driving in one’s car right after a beer that is popular nowadays for reasons I cannot conceive.
